My Personal Review
This deck is meant to be used as an Oracle deck, allowing you to devise your own meanings of the cards, as well. The dimensions of the deck are 1.5 x 4.2 x 6.2 inches and published by Blue Angel Publishing. The deck seemed like a pretty traditional size for Blue Angel.
The large lift top box is beautiful. And similar quality to Blue Angel Publishing decks. I love the quality and also that the decks are a little larger than the size of the decks. They are not easy to transport in their boxes, but I love the quality of the boxes and the larger size, which allows for a thick and in-depth book to be included. There is also no cardboard to hold the cards in place, so if you are traveling with the deck, the cards bang around in the box a bit, due to the largeness of the box. Blue Angel Publishing has created their own type of deck size and cards, so I like that they standout from traditional Hay House sizes.
There is also includes a wonderful guidebook. I love how thorough and gentle the messages are. This was my second deck and experience with Toni Carmine Salerno, and I found the writing style to be different but also refreshing. It gives interesting information on the crystals and the cards feature close ups of the minerals. I enjoyed the interpretation of the crystal's energetic value. The card stock is not overly thick, shiny, sticky to shuffle, and allow you get a nice bend without cracking the card stock. The finish really helps make the cards shuffle easily without scratching, but some of the cards do stick together when the deck is new. I have noticed with longer use that this happens less. I have yet to notice flaking of the cardstock.
The card backs are a set of clear quartz points with light refraction in various colors. in the background. Reversals are up to the reader but are really not needed with this deck. The cards are high quality with a shiny, sticky feel that makes shuffling a little less than ideal. The crystal names are printed on the front of each card which corresponds to the keyword descriptions in the guidebook. Some of the crystals are more interesting looking than others, so there isn't as much consistency with the materials, but I did enjoy the specimen photos. It can be used to read for any client, without upsetting them, or having difficulty to translate cards. There is nothing harsh, garish, or obscene in this deck.
The size of the cards is an average oracle deck size for Blue Angel, so they are larger than the typical Hay House deck. I found it to be a bit difficult for my small hands to get a grasp on the deck at times.
The guidebook is an interesting and new way of using a crystal deck. I liked the simplicity, but also in-depth objective of the messages. The messages are comforting and also bring a lot of understanding to the energies of the crystals, as well as practical use for the crystals.
Overall, I think this was a well-executed deck. I found it to be an easy deck to pick up and also incorporate for any reading. Highly recommend for crystal lovers!
My overall opinion is that this deck is a 4 star choice.
