Vintage Wisdom Oracle by Victoria Moseley
Hello, soul friends!
Today's review is covering a deck that caught my attention for it's beautiful John Waterford and Van Gogh's art pieces and vintage collage feel. I loved the details, color, and overall theme of the cards. I couldn't wait to get my paws on it and work with this beauty.
I hope you enjoy my review and generous pictures!
Vintage Wisdom Oracle
I purchased this deck at a local metaphysical shop, here in Houston, and just loved it. Got this as a birthday present to myself. Anyone else do that, too? Well, they had a sample deck to mess with, so it was nice to look through, get a feel for the cardstock, shuffle, and also look through the guidebook.

About the Author
Miss Havisham’s Attic is the creation of Bath-based artist Victoria Moseley and takes it’s name from Charles Dicken’s romantic novel ‘Great Expectations’.
Behind the trap doors and dusty cobwebs of Miss Havisham’s ghostly mansion, one might well expect to find a long forsaken attic filled with tattered photographs, hidden treasure and keepsakes that tell a story. A story of the house, it’s otherworldly occupants and it’s rambling country estate.
Taking inspiration from the faded splendor of the past, Victoria’s work is a visual celebration of the feminine spirit, the natural world and the seasons of the soul.
Victoria also designed and authored ‘The Vintage Wisdom Oracle’ which won Best inspirational product at the Coalition of Visionary Resources awards in the USA.
There is a lovely back story to this deck - it is part of an “unplanned journey” for Moseley - one that evolved over several years, one of moving from the field of interior design to the exploration and development of her own intuitive gifts!
My Personal Review
This 52-card deck is meant to be used as an Oracle deck, which is just meant to be a little less restrictive than tarot, while allowing you to devise your own meanings of the cards, as well. The dimensions of the deck are 1.5 x 4.2 x 6.2 inches and published by U.S. Games Systems Inc.
The lift top box is beautiful. I love the silver etchings and the thickness of the box. The image is very vintage, French, and I love the tones used throughout the deck. They are bright without being overpowering. There is a subtle quality, and yet ethereal vibe going on. Victoria Moseley did a fantastic job of combining elements within each card.
There are 5 illustrated spreads in the guidebook and instructions on how you can use your deck. I love the practical approach presented by Victoria Moseley. It s straight-forward and easy for anyone to pick up. It also includes a wonderfully detailed 80 page guidebook, that gives hints and describes how the deck came together. The card backs are as lovely as the images on the front of each card. Reversals are up to the reader but are really not needed with this deck. The cards are high quality with a silky feel that makes shuffling a soothing ritual. A keyword is printed on the front of each card which corresponds to the keyword descriptions in the guidebook. There is nothing harsh, garish, or obscene in this deck. It can be used to read for any client, without upsetting them, or having difficult to translate cards. The card stock is not overly thick, semi-matte finish, slick to shuffle, and allows you get a nice bend without cracking the card stock. The finish really helps make the cards shuffle easily without sticking or scratching. This card stock has been one of my favorites that I have run into. I love the smooth and easy way this deck shuffles.
The size of the cards was an average oracle deck size. Not too large, and not too small. The 80 page guidebook is simple, but gives enough to encourage you to develop your own special meanings of the cards. It really does lead one to using their intuition and also diving into all of the details in the cards. This may not be the easiest to just pick up for those who are not used to having to rely too heavily on intuition, but with practice and an open mind, it can quickly become a gentle favorite. That being said, it is down to earth and very user friendly.
It is a wonderful Vintage inspired deck with so many elements brought together in such a cohesive and elegant way. The images are clear yet, they convey mystery. It's an interesting effect, that I have not seen in other decks. This deck is perfect for those who love Vintage, those who prefer gentle images, and those who are as intrigued by ephemera as I am.
I love that Moseley also used elements from historic painters such as John Waterhouse and Vincent Van Gogh, mixed with the lace, flowers, animals, and the ethereal colors just really create a beautiful montage that breathes new life to timeless images. The themes included are also wonderfully inclusive of the main issues many of us confront and need guidance on.

All in all, I enjoyed it a lot and have found it to be wonderful to use with clients, without hesitation, if the messages will be well-received. It is comforting, supportive, and also allows for subtle breakthroughs to be made without showing off. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves vintage, gentle, and high quality decks.
